2025
Missionaries to Japan
In the spring of 2005, our lives changed forever. A friend and young life missionary to Japan asked us to bring a short-term missions team to help run an English/Surf Camp in Japan. We put together a team and went. We were deeply touched by the Japanese people. Our oldest daughter immediately felt the call of God and left the following year at 18 years old to become a Younglife missionary. Our church adopted Japan as our primary foreign mission. Since 2005, we have led many Americans to Japan on short-term mission groups, including two teams in 2011 & 2012 to help with Tsunami relief. At Streams Church, we’ve hosted over 100 Japanese students on homestays. Judy and I have spent more than a year (over 400 days) visiting and ministering in Japan over the last 19 years. It's our time now; in 2025, we will move to Japan. We will dedicate ourselves to nurturing and guiding leaders who lead with passion and purpose while prioritizing their mental, marital, and family well-being.
Here are a few testimonies of leaders in Japan who are excited about our future ministry.
Ryuta & Patrizia - Church planters; “00+ Church” Tokyo Japan
City to City Japan Training Director
“One of the most significant needs among young pastors and leaders in Japan is for healthy spiritual fathers who do not try to replace God as the ultimate Father, but faithfully, humbly, and gracefully lead others to the Father. These leaders have no ulterior motives; they simply seek to bring glory to Christ and build the kingdom of God. Pastor Lloyd and Judy have personally blessed us for over a decade, modeling this leadership style.”
Shinsuke & Sarah - National Director Christian Surfers Japan
"Their loyalty to Japan over the past two decades has had a significant and profound impact, and we can only anticipate even more from their contributions in this country. We are deeply grateful to have such outstanding leaders who are willing to dedicate a part of their lives to serving this nation."
Issaku & Runa - Church Planters; “Ohana Church” Fujisawa Japan
“We're thrilled that Lloyd and Judy are moving to Japan. Even though I don't speak English and Pastor Lloyd doesn't speak Japanese, he always takes the time to translate our conversations and messages into Japanese. I appreciate that he wants to communicate in my native language. I know they will be great mentors to us and Ohana Church."
